Check out this awesome video that Zerotohundred have put together for this year’s final Time To Attack, which is taking place on the 12th of December 2010 @ Sepang International Circuit again!

I think if you squint your eyes you can see my car in there somewhere.

The final is going to be the bomb and drivers can participate by invitation only.

Yes, I have been invited and yes I will be participating.

See you there – remember, it’s free entry for spectators!

Prego @ The Westin Kuala Lumpur

One of the nights when I was in Kuala Lumpur with Jeremy, he had to shit-ton of paperwork to do so Mrs. Hale and I popped downstairs to the Prego @ The Westin for some dinner.

Prego @ The Westin Kuala Lumpur

I have very fond memories of Prego, since I used to eat there quite a lot as my friend Fabrizio Aceti was the Executive Chef when it first opened. I would classify the food back then as intelligent Italian cuisine and I was really sad when he left.

The menu has now reverted back to classic Italian fare, but the food is  super delicious and VERY reasonable.

I had the gnocchi with creamed cod (I’ve always been a sucker for gnocchi and it was amazing!)

Prego’s ambience is still top notch (I love the open kitchen) and the service is great too.

Introducing SYNC

Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to SYNC:

SYNC is a new creative lifestyle unit that my good buddy Daiya Kobayashi and I have just started. We aim to bring innovative entertainment experiences to discerning individuals around the world.

We’ve been working on this concept for a while and now that all the pieces have fallen into place I can finally talk about it!

The first SYNC event that we are holding to kick-start everything is going to be on the 27th November, 2010 at the fabulous new Rooftop bar in Hanoi:

Introducing SYNC - the Rooftop, Hanoi

The Rooftop is a brand new bar/lounge in Hanoi that has already claimed the enviable position of hottest nightspot in town after being open for only a month.

Introducing SYNC - the Rooftop, Hanoi

Daiya sent me these photos of the Rooftop a month ago and I was SUPER SUPER psyched when I saw them.

And who wouldn’t be psyched after seeing a view like this:

Introducing SYNC - the Rooftop, Hanoi

The Rooftop is located on the 19th floor of a brand new building in Hanoi, and let’s just say the owners have really done everything properly.

The decor looks amazing, and Daiya will be sorting out the sound for our event so I expect nothing but the best!

Oh and you know what the COOLEST part about this SYNC launch party is?

Russian Standard Vodka

We’re working with Russian Standard!

Russian Standard makes the best vodka IN THE WORLD.

Daiya Kobayashi + BadBoyBen + RooftopRussian Standard Vodka = A MASSIVE FUCKING BOMB GOING OFF IN HANOI ON THE 27TH, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Maybe some of you wanna check air ticket prices to Hanoi right now. Hahaha

Lotus Metamorphosis

Here’s an interesting bit of news from the Lotus camp:

met•a•mor•pho•sis n. pl. met•a•mor•pho•ses
1. A transformation, as by magic or sorcery.
2. A marked change in appearance, character, condition, or function.
3. Biology A change in the form and often habits of an animal during normal development after the embryonic stage

With a perfect example of art in motion, Lotus are set to unveil Metamorphosis – a unique collaboration between Lotus and the award winning French artist Gérard Rancinan – on Friday (12th November) at an exclusive VIP event in Los Angeles. Metamorphosis is a selection of seven stunning images alongside a book created by French writer, Caroline Gaudriault. Both elements aim to capture the essence of Lotus’ evolution.

Lotus Metamorphosis

Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said: “Lotus is currently going through a complete metamorphosis and at times it can be a real challenge to communicate the transition of a brand, especially one as iconic as Lotus. The passion people have for our brand can be both a blessing and a curse, everyone has a strong opinion – for this reason, we are always looking for creative ways to reach out to the world. When the idea was presented to me, I couldn’t resist. Gérard is an exceptional artist, I have followed his work closely over the years and I felt instinctively that he would be the perfect person to demonstrate our vision and encapsulate the spirit of our brand with his images. People are in for a real treat when they see all seven.”

Lotus Metamorphosis

Gérard Rancinan creator of Metamorphosis said: “I can see a clear artistic link between the work of Lotus and my photographs in terms of commitment, the relevance of the subject matter, the audacity of the creator, the beauty of the gesture and the perfection of the object. We are engaged in a dialogue which takes place on the same terrain: the world of art.”

Lotus Metamorphosis

Caroline Gaudriault author of the Metamorphosis book said: “Authors always look for a good story to use as a kind of canvas; their characters take on the form of living matter; they introduce twists and turns in their narratives in an attempt to surprise their readers. By immersing myself in the Lotus saga, I was able to find all the material I needed to create a feuilleton drawn from real life.”

Lotus Metamorphosis

Lotus Director of Design Donato Coco said: “From a design perspective Lotus is in full metamorphosis and it’s a natural progression for any forward thinking brand, in my view we are retaining the core DNA through everything we’re doing – the way I see it, Lotus is more Lotus now than ever before. We obsessively seek innovation, we are unique and we are bold, that is what Lotus is about. With the Metamorphosis collaboration we are simply spreading our wings. The project means a great deal to me personally, I have known Gérard for many years and we inspire each other through our work – he completely understands our vision for the future of Lotus whilst still paying great respect to our past.”

Lotus Metamorphosis

It’s nice to see Lotus making an effort to break out of the pigeonhole they have been stuck in for years and CEO Dany Bahar seems to be ticking all the right boxes so far.

Hopefully this “metamorphosis” will help Lotus reclaim it’s status in the hearts (and garages) of people around the world!
