POW WOW

Korean BBQ

I had a really important lunch pow wow with some friends today.

We met up at a quaint little Korean restaurant in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) aka the “Twin Towers

Korean BBQ

The topic on discussion was the imminent arrival of What’s Good? Kuala Lumpur.

Above is Wayne, my insanely talented interior designer, who came up with an amazing design for the store which I am looking forward to seeing in the flesh.

At the meeting were another two important people - regular readers of my blog may recognize GTR Steve.

988 Jeff is also an intergral part of our “conspiracy” … coincidentally, this was also the first time I’d seen Jeff since his wedding dinner.

Jeff also has a cool “foodie” show on NTV7 now, so check that out if you have time!

And here is Shu Ling – the MOST important person at the lunch meeting.

We are finally back on track and everything is on schedule.

I hope you’re ready.

500GB

500GB to store porn!

I just got this super-fly 500GB external HDD as a backup drive.

I’m a bit paranoid about losing data on my computer, as it’s happened to me a few times before, but hopefully now I can do regular backups.

500GB to store porn!

With a backup drive, it means I don’t really need to take my main drive to the shop for repairs if anything goes wrong, I can just junk the main drive and use the backup.

That would stop any of my naughty pics getting into the hands of any dodgy computer technicians and uploaded onto the net for all to see, huh?

;)

ANDREA MANN

Andrea Mann

Ok everyone, heads up.

If you love jazz and you are in Penang, then here’s some EXTREMLY good news for you: the G Hotel has invited the lovely Andrea Mann to be their resident performer for February and March.

I’ve known about this for a while now (God knows I’ve berated the G’s GM Marco enough times for the previously dodgy music policy – sorry Marco) but I didn’t have a chance to hear Andrea perform until recently.

I only managed to hear her sing for a little while on Valentine’s Day (I arrived late and I had an early flight to catch the next day) but what I heard was enough to make me wish I could hear more.

Her voice has a sweet sort of huskiness that is warm and intimate and draws you into whatever song she is singing. She could probably sing that goddamn Ketchup Song and make it sound sexy.

Andrea Mann

It’s not very often that a Penang establishment takes its entertainment seriously (just look at all the atrocious cover bands rampant on the island and you will know) but obviously Marco and his team at the G are here to buck that trend.

The G Spot has one of the most beautiful interiors of any bar in Penang, and now with a credible and classy music policy implemented, I consider it to be the best bar by far in Penang. I don’t expect a lot of Penangites to particularly understand what Marco is doing with the G Spot, but then and again I know he is not trying to attract the typical Penangite to the G.

;)

Andrea Mann performs every night (except Sunday) at the G Spot, 1st Floor, G Hotel.

THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE

Steve's 600HP 280KM/H R34 GTR

I was in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend for some top secret shenanigans – i.e. finalizing some deals that will make a LOT of people VERY happy but a FEW people VERY unhappy.

Anyways, when it was time to leave, my good buddy Steve offered to give me a ride to the airport.

Regular readers of my blog will have seen Steve’s R34 Skyline GTR before but I can get never get enough of it, and every time I’m either riding in it or driving it, there’s something new there.

Steve's 600HP 280KM/H R34 GTR

Steve’s car is now the show/demo car for one of Malaysia’s hottest modified car events – The Xtreme Nights.

I don’t really know how to describe how fast Steve’s GTR is on the freeway, but imagine someone strapping you to a chair and throwing you out of a 50-storey building and you’re going too fast to scream.

Steve's 600HP 280KM/H R34 GTR

The car’s come a long way since Steve bought it new a few years back. The color’s changed and so has the engine. Slowly but surely, the car has become one of the fastest Skyline’s in the country and a walking showcase of the latest and greatest performance tuning products from Japan.

Hmm … something must be wrong with Steve’s speedo, because we can’t possibly be going that fast.

Something must be wrong with Steve’s A’PEXi FC Commander unit as well.

You’ve all seen the exterior of the car, but how about what really matters? Ladies and gentlemen, here is an exclusive peek under the hood of this 600HP monster.

Since the car is a show car, extra-special attention has been paid to the engine bay, and it shows man.

Anything that could have been carbon-fibered was carbon-fibered, and everything that could have been chromed was chromed.

Even the strut-brace has been carbon-fibered:

The insane RB26DETT is one of Nissan’s most potent engines, and the highest tuned R’s churn out about 1300HP in Japan. There are a couple of 800HP+ R’s in Malaysia, but they are used primarily for drag racing, and not “daily drivers” like Steve’s car.

Steve's 600HP 280KM/H R34 GTR

Only the best parts have been fitted to Steve’s car, such as this GReddy aluminum radiator from Japanese tuning-giant Trust.

HKS air filters with polished aluminum piping bring healthy amounts of cold air to the hungry turbochargers.

The SARD fuel rail keeps the engine supplied with all the fuel it needs … cars like this drink gasoline like I drink booze, the only difference is that is if I don’t get enough to drink, I don’t explode.

I might get a little bit antsy, but I don’t explode.

Steve's 600HP 280KM/H R34 GTR

Damn look at that engine! I could sit there and look at it for hours. And the bastard Steve has really fucking carbon-fibered everything.

You don’t even want to know how much that cost.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

Iphone

Ok ok … so I know I’m slow, but I finally got myself an Iphone.

Thanks to Steve for helping me sort everything out, installing all the software and giving me my Iphone 101 lesson.

It has, hands down, the BEST mobile phone interface ever.

Amazing, truly amazing.

TRADITIONS (PART II)

Air Max 1

I found this sexy pair of Air Max 1′s when I was in Bangkok last time, so I decided to get them for Chinese New Year aswell (just in case anything happened to my Fusions)

Air Max 1

Clean, simple execution, with bold, striking colors and enough little details to get me excited.

Air Max 1

The first time I wore these out, some fucking bastard stepped on them.
