LIGHT SPEED

Am I moving too fast?

Am I moving too fast?

Am I moving too fast?

Am I moving too fast?

Shit’s been moving so fast recently – I feel that my life is travelling at the speed of light sometimes.

And every time I feel like I am getting used to the speed, something happens and shifts everything into a higher gear.

Sort of like in the Speed Racer movie.

I wish I could share some of the excitement with you, but unfortunately I can’t.

Yet.

I’M FLATTERED

Saw these on Ryan’s blog … bootleggers are onto us … fuck those parasites.

Remember, the ONLY places you can buy ORIGINAL Dope Distribution/What’s Good? goodies are at What’s Good? (Kuala Lumpur & Singapore) and at selected retailers around the world.

If in doubt of whether the place that is selling you the merchandise is an authorized retailer or not, you can quickly run a check on www.dopedistribution.com – we will always have a list of where the particular product in question is available.

LYNN LIM JOINS THE CONSPIRACY

Lynn Lim

Everyone, I’d like to introduce you to Lynn Lim, the “newest” member of the What’s Good? Conspiracy.

I put quotes around the word “newest” because theoretically, she’s one of the oldest members since I’ve known her for more than 6 years and she’s the actually the technical guru behind all our blog-related issues here at What’s Good?

I’ve been asking her to write for us for ages, but we could never really decide on the specific direction of her blog until recently so here we are.

In the past, she freelanced as a journalist and her personal blog was always full of stuff about shit that happened to Malaysians every day and how it affected us.

Even though she now resides in Melbourne, Australia, Lynn remains an acute observer of Malaysian society and her views/commentary on our national state of affairs is something I’m always interested to hear/read.

I’m sure you will enjoy her writing as much as I do.

Keep it bitchy, girl!

SPACE

Space, Asian Heritage Row, Kuala Lumpur

Last week, while I was in Kuala Lumpur for 2 days, I popped down to Space with Steve Ho (SES/Visual Lights) to say hi to Sebastien – he of The Loft, Flam’s, Cynna fame.

Space is Sebastien’s newest club, located right under Cynna Bar on Asian Heritage Row, and it has a progressive house music policy.

Apart from Steve, I also had my good buddy Kevin Yeoh in tow. Kev was interviewing me for a local magazine over dinner and I made him go drinking with me. He organizes a great underground hip-hop night in town called KL Undercover which you should check out if you have time.

I bumped into Andrew Montell and Joe Flizzow while we were there - Andrew is the publisher of a shit hot Australian urban magazine called Acclaim and Joe of course is one of the most talented MCs in the country. Andrew always sends me the latest issue of Acclaim so I always know what’s hot in Oz.

Damn after that another old friend Adam C came over to say hi. Haven’t seen Adam for ages! He’s one of the people who’s always got a smile on his face and brightens up every party he’s at so I’m always glad to see him.

Usually when so many friends get together, a lot of alcohol is consumed. And usually when so much alcohol is consumed, somebody gets fucked up.

The question is who?

Below is a lovely combination of Taiwanese food, Bacardi Limon, Johnnie Walker and waaay too much Veuve Cliquot:

J.CO DONUTS & COFFEE

J. C) Donuts & Coffee

Everyone’s been raving about Indonesian donut chain J. CO Donuts & Coffee since they opened in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, but I never tried them since there is always a fucking long queue for their donuts and I never have the time or patience to wait.

Yesterday however, I had a bit of time and someone to queue for me (hehe) so I decided to see if the shit was so good.

Verdict: Yes J. CO donuts really are that good and I think I’ll join the line next time too.

CRABS AGAIN

De Foodland, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur

What’s Good Kuala Lumpur’s store manager, Shu Ling, has been working really hard since the opening so I decided to take her and her boyfriend, Wai Kit aka Kaypo King aka Ah Foon, for dinner at De Foodland, since they missed the dinner there we had with 24Herbs et al.

I ordered the greatest hits – Marmite crab, Cheese crab and Phat’s favorite – Salted Egg crab.

I shed a tear for all my crab homies (24Herbs, Jin, Ryan Hui and WZA) while I was eating …
