The same day that I had the photoshoot with Mcclubz in Kuala Lumpur, there was actually an event on in the morning – which was the soft-launch of the 2011 Japan Super GT Championship (Malaysian Round)
This was an exclusive, invitation-only affair and was restricted to media and friends of race organizer JPM Motorsport.
JPM Motorsport is a very well-known motorsports event organizer in Malaysia and it comes as no surprise that when they invited their friends to this private luncheon at the 1 Utama shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur, everyone turned up driving a performance car of some sort.
There were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Aston Martins, Audi R8s & R35 GTRs as far as the eye could see. It was pretty awe-inspiring and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many supercars in one place at one time.
I was invited to the event and I was originally going to drive my Exige down, but the car fell prey to some technical gremlins the day before so I drove my Impreza instead.
Since I was only driving my “family car” I made sure to park as far away from the main group of supercars as possible.
Like really really far away. Hahaha
JPM Motorsport brought a few of their own personal cars to the event, one of which was the incredible Lamborghini LP670-4 SV:
I would shit my pants if I saw this car in my rear-view mirror.
Photos don’t really do the gathering justice since there were more than 130 performance cars there so here’s a video I put together to show you just how awesome it was:
