When I was first sent the pictures of these two pairs of kicks last year I was like, “Holy shit!”
And those were only the teaser pics.
Now that the DC X Sixpack France sneakers designed by French graphic artist PMKFA are just about to be released, you (and I) can see just how amazing these 2 pairs of shoes are.
The Sector 7 is another awesome model from the Life Collection. I can’t decide which one is slicker.
The design of the shoe comes from PMKFA’s vision of “street entrepreneurship”
Design cues come from 90s hip-hop and the shoe represents life as a “chess game” – “the goal of making your next move your best.”
“The type for the collaborative slogan, “Six Feet Ahead” is based on how letters would look like if they were made in plastic and exposed to extreme heat. Bending and twisting the once straight lines gives them a more organic feel, not dissimilar to roots,” as PMKFA explains.
This is the 3rd time that DC has collaborated with French graphic design collective Sixpack, and this collection looks to be their strongest so far.
The DC X Sixpack Collection designed by PMKFA consists of 2 pairs of sneakers, a matching T and New Era fitted cap.
The details on the shoes are some of the most intricate I have ever seen and I am sure anyone who is lucky enough to get their hands on a pair will agree with me. DC is really killing it this year, with crazy release after crazy release. Like the tagline for this collection, DC really is staying “six feet ahead” of everyone else.
Damn look at that New Era! Is that not the sickest fitted you’ve seen in a long time?
P.S. To support the launch of the collection, DC is running a month-long installation at Size? at Carnaby Street in London. PMKFA himself will be curating the event so if you are in London on the 26th of February – the 25th of March make sure you drop by Size? to check out the exhibition!
