Our friends in Songkhla, Thailand, organized a gymkhana event last weekend so we decided to go there and visit them before our insanely hectic racing season kicks off.
Thanks to Whiteline Southeast Asia and Lucas Oils Malaysia for supporting me on this trip!
Special thanks to Topfy and everyone at Top Auto Tire and P. Tee at T-Noodle House for their warm and generous hospitality!
Photo overload after the jump!
My buddy Ray from KL joined me and Jackson for this little road trip. This was Ray’s first time participating in a gymkhana and I think he’s hooked!
Did someone say “negative camber”?
-8 degrees! Hahaha
Ridiculously yummy roast meats – pork and duck. The roast pork was off the chain!
SO DAMN GOOD!
Our friend Aox’s fire-breathing Cefiro. Yes, his parents are his biggest sponsors.
Why have 1 caliper when you can have 2?
This Mazda 2 is driven by a 12 year-old girl in gymkhana competitions!
Nice and clean after a car wash at Top Auto Tire.
Handling by Whiteline. Their swaybars make my so much more stable and have helped eliminate almost all of my car’s bodyroll!
We brought some wine to a roadside restaurant for dinner and amazingly they had a wine opener there!
Team breakfast at T-Noodle House, which is owned by P. Tee, one of our good friends in Hatyai.
Awesome noodles at T-Noodle House!
P.Tee on the far right and his lovely wife on the far left. Thank you so much for treating us to breakfast! Khap khun kap!
We love Whiteline!
Whoa … RM4 for a litre of RON95???
Lucas Oils provided me with engine oil, gear oil and this octane booster for this trip.
I can tell you without a doubt that this octane booster seriously packs a punch. I emptied a whole bottle into my gas tank and later at the event I nearly lost control of my car at the start coz it just bolted off at the start with a ferocity that it has never done before. Amazing what a little bottle can do!
Arriving at the Songkhla Aquarium.
Some of our good friends from KL also made the trek down. Here’s Mike Ng’s immaculate Evo.
And check out Mickey Teoh’s gorgeous MR-S.
It seriously is one of the most beautiful MR-S’ I have every seen.
J. Foo and me chilling before our runs.
Aox and his li’l brother. His li’l bro was the one who was actually driving this Starlet in the competition. He is 12.
Check out this super mean-looking EG6.
OMG! Beautiful lady driver!
Check out this highly modified Honda Jazz.
OMG! Another super cute and beautiful lady driver! How come we don’t have more girls participating in motorsports in Malaysia???
Thanks so much to Whiteline Southeast Asia for coming to support us at this event.
The race went all the way until 10pm. In fact, I only got my first timed run at 9something pm. The organizers also cut down my number of runs, which I was not too happy about.
Waterview Restaurant in Danok … one of my favorite restaurants out there!
Me, Simon (Whiteline Southeast Asia), J. Foo and Ray.
Lunch by the side of a quite and peaceful lake. Perfect.
Even the fried rice seems to taste better in Thailand!
Looks like some took a dump in a coconut but this is actually a super delicious Otak Otak.
My favorite dish in Thailand – Khor Moo Yang!
Bye bye Thailand … we’ll miss you and we’ll be back!
